AI for engineers in the Philippines: from free to a master's degree.

You already know how to build things. The question is which AI skills are worth your evenings, and whether a certificate, a bootcamp, or a full MEng actually changes what you get paid. Real prices, real schedules, checked against each provider's page.

Engineering is the second-largest profession searching for AI training in the Philippines, behind accountants. The difference is that engineers usually do not need convincing that AI matters. They need to know which specific path is worth the time, because they already have the technical background to go deep if they choose to.

This guide sorts the options by how much of your life they cost, from a free weekend to a two-year degree.

Start here: the free tier

Before spending anything, exhaust the free material. For an engineer with existing programming fundamentals, this covers more ground than most paid introductory courses.

Certifications worth the exam fee

For engineers, a vendor certification is usually a better signal than a course completion certificate, because it involves a proctored exam with a pass or fail.

Only the AWS prices above are officially published. Microsoft renders exam pricing dynamically and its country price list is currently unavailable, so check at the Pearson VUE checkout rather than trusting a figure from a blog. Full breakdown on our IT certifications page.

Bootcamps: when you want to build, not just pass

If you want applied skills and a portfolio rather than a credential, a cohort bootcamp is the middle path.

Uplift Code Camp, Python for Data and AI Bootcamp. ₱55,000 exclusive of taxes, with up to ₱8,000 off for early or group enrollment and interest-free payment in 4 or 8 installments. Twenty weeks, Monday to Thursday 7 to 9 PM. Batch 4 runs 9 November 2026 to 10 April 2027. This is the most engineer-shaped program on the list: Python-first, project-based, and it covers building AI agents rather than dashboards. See the provider profile.

Eskwelabs Data Science Fellowship. Fifteen weeks at roughly 20 hours a week, five weeknights plus Saturday afternoons. Eskwelabs does not publish a price on its own site; its financing partner Bukas lists the principal at ₱65,000. Deeper on the statistics and modelling side than Uplift. See the provider profile.

Both are compared against the rest of the market on our data analytics courses page.

The formal route: UP Diliman MEng in Artificial Intelligence

If you want to work as an AI engineer rather than an engineer who uses AI, the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Engineering runs a Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence: 31 units plus a capstone, two years full-time or three years part-time, with semestral admission, delivered in person in Quezon City at UP graduate tuition rates.

This is a genuine degree with a genuine time cost. It is the right answer if you are changing what you do rather than adding a tool to what you already do. It is the wrong answer if you mainly want to use AI in your current engineering role, where a certification plus a portfolio gets you there in months instead of years. See the provider profile.

Which path fits you?

An honest word on what training does not fix

Philippine AI job postings still skew toward data and software roles rather than dedicated AI engineering, and a certificate on its own rarely moves a salary band. What tends to move it is a portfolio of shipped work plus a credential, in that order. If you have limited time, build something real with the free material first and add the paper afterward.

Frequently asked questions

What AI training is best for engineers in the Philippines?

It depends on your goal. For using AI in your current role, the free Microsoft Learn and AWS Skill Builder paths plus a vendor certification are enough. For building AI systems, Uplift Code Camp's Python for Data and AI Bootcamp at ₱55,000 is the most engineer-shaped option. For a career change into AI engineering, UP Diliman runs a Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence.

Is there free AI training for engineers in the Philippines?

Yes. Microsoft Learn publishes complete official study paths at no cost, AWS Skill Builder offers over 600 free courses, UiPath Academy provides free role-based automation training, and e-TESDA hosts free government ICT and AI courses. For someone with existing programming fundamentals, this covers more than most paid introductory courses.

How much does an AI bootcamp cost in the Philippines?

Uplift Code Camp publishes ₱55,000 exclusive of taxes for its Python for Data and AI Bootcamp, with discounts for early or group enrollment. Eskwelabs does not publish prices on its own site, though its financing partner Bukas lists principals of ₱65,000 for the Data Science Fellowship and ₱35,840 for the Data Analytics Bootcamp.

Is a master's in AI worth it in the Philippines?

It depends whether you are changing careers or adding a skill. UP Diliman's MEng in Artificial Intelligence is 31 units plus a capstone over two years full-time or three part-time, in person in Quezon City. That makes sense if you want to work as an AI engineer. If you want to use AI in your existing engineering role, a certification plus a portfolio achieves that in months rather than years.

Which AI certification should an engineer get?

AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) at USD 100 is officially priced and leans toward applications and responsible AI. Azure AI Fundamentals via exam AI-901 never expires, and since replacing AI-900 in June 2026 it now assumes Python and Azure familiarity, which suits engineers. Check current Microsoft pricing at the Pearson VUE checkout, since Microsoft does not publish a verifiable figure.
